Friday Fictioneers: Celebrate

It had been five years since public gatherings had been allowed due to the outbreak. Janet and Bobbi decided to venture out from their home where they had isolated for the last three years.

“There’s a concert on the boardwalk.”

“Do you think that’s a good idea?”

“They look like they’re having a lot of fun.”

Both women stared out of the window of the condo at the people on the beach below them. It really did look fun.

“C’mon, Bobbi. What’s the worst that could happen?”

No one was indoors when the weather announced the approaching Category 5 hurricane.

Friday Fictioneers is hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields.  This week’s prompt is here. You can add your own response to the InLinkz list here.

  1. Nice optimistic take. We deserve it though. We are not nice to Mother Nature. Nor are we a match for her. She says, “Thanks for the pollution. Here, have a virus.” “It’s safe to come back outside. Nice Hummer. Here, have a hurricane, dickhead.”
